A Study on Instrumental Development of Menstrual Pain

Abstract
Purpose :This study carried out to develop the questionnaires that can measure objectively menstrual pain and determine pain index.

Methods :First, we made questionnaires to measure menstrual pain by VAS, MVRS, VRS and question about trouble of daily life and so on. Then we investigated 325 women¡¯s questionnaires who has dysmenorrhea.

Results :1. We determined five items¡¯s total (MVRS, VRS, VAS, other two items about trouble of daily life) the pain index, called tot10. If we divided menstrual pain into three degrees, a mild case(in tot10, from 1 to 3) was 65 persons 20.00%, a moderate case(in tot10, from 4 to 7) was 198 persons 60.92%, a severe case(in tot10, from 8 to 10) was 62 persons 19.08%. 2. In estimation of reliability based on the internal consistency of respondent, those of tot10 with the other five questions are all over 91.08%. 3. In the relationship other questions with pain degree from a point of tot10, it accorded with pain degree that was the pain period of once menstruation, whether take analgesics or not, frequency of taking drugs, it did not accorded with pain degree that was the dosage of analgesics, frequency of menstrual pain, having symptoms except for menstrual period. Then it did not proper taking drugs to evaluate pain degree. 4. The peripheral coldness and vomiting that was accompanied with menstruation, accorded with pain degree
